Spring is gently settling in, bringing with it beautiful projects and many shared moments. We are delighted to share these rich experiences and this month’s highlights with you.

🌱 The Garden and Nature

The garden is coming to life : the children have cleared, planted, watered, repainted the edges of the planters, and created new signs. A big thank you to the gardening committee for their dedication!

  • We also enjoyed an “outdoor school” afternoon for the children who do not nap. They had the opportunity to revisit the names of 2D geometric shapes and practice counting.
  • All the children created a variety of spring-themed artworks: murals, suncatchers, flower sketches, and more. Through both classroom activities and outings, we discovered many new flowers !
  • Picnic and outing to Blandan Park : a real success! Children had free access to different activities such as free play, flower bracelets, mud figures, and spring-themed cards—all under beautiful sunshine…

Many thanks again to the parent volunteers who joined us.

🏃‍♀️ Sports and Physical Activities

  • The older children enjoy sports sessions along the riverbanks, challenging themselves more each week and taking on increasingly complex activities.
  • The younger ones take part in obstacle courses at the park before nap time and are making rapid progress in their gross motor skills.

🍫 The World of Chocolate

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming parents who shared a fascinating presentation with the children about how chocolate is made.

Alexandra explained how the cacao plant grows, from cultivating pods on cacao trees to harvesting the beans. This journey from fruit to chocolate bar helped the children better understand the work and natural richness behind a product we all love to taste (and that we were lucky enough to explore through tasting!). This moment of sharing and sensory discovery sparked their curiosity about where food comes from and the connection between nature and traditional craftsmanship.

📣 Important Reminders

Labelling

To avoid lost items, please make sure your child’s name is clearly marked on their clothing and personal belongings (water bottles, cutlery, comfort toys, pacifiers, etc.).

Park Rules

The park is a special place where your children learn, play, and explore together. During our time at Nadeau Park, we follow specific rules to ensure everyone’s safety, well-being, and respect for the space. These rules may sometimes differ from those you apply as a family, which can be surprising or unsettling for children—and that’s perfectly normal.

  • Hold hands with another child or an adult in the street
  • Only adults open doors
  • Benches are for sitting
  • Hold on with both hands and stay seated on the swings
  • Stones stay on the ground
  • Plants are living things; we let them grow peacefully
  • Go down the slide sitting, feet first
  • In the playhouse: feet stay on the ground, not on benches or tables
  • Waste goes in the bin
  • Sticks stay in the bushes
  • Do not dig under concrete or in the soil
  • If a child needs the toilet urgently, the school facilities are the best option

These rules are not meant to limit children’s natural desire to explore—quite the opposite! We would love for them to discover and venture even more, but to ensure everyone’s safety and well-being, these guidelines are essential. They help prevent accidents, respect shared spaces, and allow teachers to supervise all children effectively. They also help care for the park and its environment.

We warmly invite you, if you wish, to apply these same rules during your family outings to the park. This can help children better understand expectations and explore safely and confidently, both at school and at home.
