Here is some news from school life, along with our warm thoughts for this festive season.
☃️ Winter
We have begun talking with the children about the new season: winter. Together, in both English and French, we explore the changes that come with this colder season. We observe nature as it rests, notice the days becoming shorter, and talk about the special atmosphere of this time of year. These discussions nurture the children’s curiosity and enrich their understanding of the world around them.
🧘 Discovering the Body and Emotions through Yoga
Guided by Francesca, the yoga workshops offer children a time to explore their bodies, movement, and breath. Through three playful sessions, they discovered sensations (my body speaks to me), rhythm (speeding up and slowing down movements), and breathing—our true superpower—presented as a simple and effective tool to calm down and refocus.
These body-based moments were enriched with artistic activities: free drawing of emotions, tracing the rhythm of music, and creating the “breathing boat.” All of these are first keys to help children get to know themselves better and develop inner awareness.
This beautiful inward journey will continue throughout the month of January.
🎨 AiRT de Famille
The recent exhibition was a great success. The children from the middle and upper sections were delighted to discover the works of emerging artists from Lyon and to share this moment together.
🗿 Sculptures and Hands-on Workshops
Thanks to the Reggio afternoons, many hands-on workshops were offered, with a wonderful focus on sculpture and volume. After discovering 2D through tracing and prints, the children enthusiastically explored 3D creation.
To prepare for the festive season, we held several workshops:
Christmas Scents: The children had the opportunity to explore different smells (star anise, cinnamon, cloves, orange, pine cone, vanilla, etc.) before taking part in matching games.
Hanging Decorations: Using air-drying clay, the children created small decorative ornaments.
Magical Greeting Cards: The children were delighted to discover wax-drawn patterns revealed by brushing ink over the cards.
Biscuit Workshop: In preparation for our shared lunch, the children made small butter biscuits. Kneading, rolling out the dough, choosing cookie cutters, baking, and tasting—what a treat!

🎬 Festive Lunch and Winter Ball
We enjoyed a festive lunch where everyone ate together in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Many thanks to Bonnie’s father for generously donating vegetables for the occasion.
After lunch, we worked on rhythm and coordination through circle games, dance-based activities, and free dance — a wonderful moment 😊
🎭 Performance
The children greatly enjoyed the performance “Dans ma Bulle”, which we attended at Théâtre de l’Île Ô. It was a beautiful shared moment combining music, storytelling, colors, and tactile sensations—a truly sensory and enchanting experience. Thank you to Isaac’s mother for welcoming us.
🐣 Launch of the “Birth of Empathy” Program
The program has officially begun! We welcomed Amaury, the baby whom we will observe throughout the year and whom the children will watch grow. A wonderful project to foster empathy and attention to others.
🍻 Parents’ Apéritif and Coffee Morning
Thank you to the parents who joined us for the last apéritif. We look forward to seeing you all on February 3rd for the next one !
📽 Cinema outing
A cinema outing is planned this week for the children in the middle and upper sections.
